Salisbury

So after loading the bus we drove to the town of Salisbury. Once we got there we had some time to explore the town and get some lunch before we had to meet up as a group at the Cathedral. So just before we got there, our tour manager Sarah had some English candy bars. She was giving them away to people to try for different reasons. She said she would give one away to the group who could got the most people in a phone booth. You had to bring a picture for proof to show her. So I had been wanting to do this for awhile. Shortly after getting off the bus, right by the Cathedral there was a phone booth. Me and one of the other girls from our group went straight for it. I climbed up onto the phone part and she went above the coin box. The rest of the group filed in after. Well we were able to get eight, yes eight, people into the phone booth and close the door. And that is with three boys that are over 6 feet. We probably could have gotten one more if we had tried. Kay stayed out and took the picture. It was funny because there was like no one there when we started and then there was like this huge group. Other tourists, people from our tour group as well as our tour manager. It was fun, there was even this German lady who was video taping us. So here is the pictures of all of us in the phone booth and us after we came out. The first picture you can see my leg and shoe on the side.

So after the phone booth we wandered around the town and got something to eat. We then headed back to the Cathedral. We couldn't take pictures on the inside but here are some of the outside. The Salisbury Cathedral has the tallest Gothic spire in England. The first is of the back where we actually entered.

The Front

The side, as you can see it was under renovation. Almost every place we went to was being renovated or fixed up.

Stay tuned for our experience on the ferry.
