Snow, Sore Muscles, and Christmas

So for those of you that don't know we have been having an exceptionaly large amout of snow for Pocatello. I am sure most can relate bacuase it seems that every one is getting snow, even those that don't usually get snow. So here are some of our yard. You can kind of tell from the before and after picture of the bridge that we have a decent amount of snow. Also the stak by the tree is pushed into the ground so you can kind of tell. Then you have the walk which I have had to shovel twice now. The first time there was like three feet of snow and the second time there was like a foot in a half of snow. Let me tell you I was very sore.

Here is us Christmas morning at the Jenkins. And this is how many presents you have when you have 9 adults and two kids.

Christmas Card

So I took this idea from my sister-in-law. I really wanted to send out christmas cards this year but decided that we probably couldn't afford it. So here is an online card of what has been going on. This year was a year with lots of big changes. Starting in January Richard left to go to Boise for 10 weeks for post for the police department. I had to stay behind because I was still in school and had work. It was a little rough but he was able to come home on the weekeneds so I survived. Well at the end of April we decided that we no longer wanted to be renters so we decided to buy a house. We absolutly love it, even though it is expensive getting all the stuff for a house. Well Richard got through his training phase with the police department well and is now out on his own. I took an evening dental assisting class that I have now since finished and am planning on getting a job in January.
As for church we both were primary choristers in our ward when we were in our apartment. When we moved to our house we imediatly got callings. Richard was called as the young mens secretary which he was very excited about and I was called to be the fourth sunday teacher in relief society. I was a little nervouse having never taught before but have grown to love it. Now just to show that the lord works in funny ways, just when I have become somewhat comfortable in my calling they have now called both of us to be cub masters. Richard gets to keep his calling but I will be released. I am absolutly terrified for this calling seeing as I have no brothers and no NOTHING about scouts. But I know it will be a growing experience and I will probably learn to love it as well. Well that is what has been going on with us. Hope all of you are well and are having a very wonderful holiday season.

Love.

Sorry it has been so long!

So it is very hard to post when I don't have the internet at my house. I know that is a bad excuse and I will try to get better but for now you will have to bare with me. I have finally gotten caught up though so enjoy. I have also tried to post some videos but they haven't been working so stay tuned for those.

Another Tag

The HS tag:
1. Did you date someone from your school? I have to say yes to this one. And I actually dated a few guys from my school.
2. What kind of car did you drive? 1998 Toyota Corolla, and we still have it. It is a great car.
3. Were you a party animal? no I would say not
4. Were you considered a flirt? I am sad to admit that yes I was considered a flirt. Those of you who had the pleasure of knowing me in high school are probably laughing your heads of right now. I actually won awards for this one, not that I am totally proud or anything.
5. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Band and the symphony orchestra.
6. What was your most embarrassing moment of high school? That is a hard one, I will have to get back to you on that.
7. Were you a nerd? Well I would like to say that I wasn't, but in the terms of being smart and getting good grades was important to me then yes I guess I was.
8. Were you on any varsity teams? yes. Swimming, Water Polo, and the top band if you consider that a team
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? no
10. Can you still sing the fight song?Bits and pieces of it, you would think being a cheerleader I would remeber it, but give me a break I only did that for one year. I know the tune from band though.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Mr. Brooks, Ms. Harding, well I think a lot of my teachers, but those are the ones that were special enough to get invited to my wedding reception.
12. What was your school's full name? Reynolds High School
13. School mascot? Raiders
14. Did you go to homecoming, and with who? Yes. I went my frosh year with some girl friends and then again my senior year with Brandon Holbrock.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? For the most part no. I would though just so that I could be active in sports and band again, and to see my frinds again.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? That I was sad to leave high school and all my friends but excited to start on my journy in good old Idaho.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? I was unable to skip on senior skip day because I went to a charter school every other day and I was there on skip day and the classes where way to hard to miss.
18. Were you in a club? nope, no time between band and sports.
19. Have you gained some weight since then? Unfortunaly yes, but I don't think much, since getting married I have become inactive but am trying to get better.
20. Who was your prom date? Whick time? I went twice my junior year and those were Ron Lynn and Matt (just blanked the last name) and then my senior year it was with Rick Craft.
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? I don't know. I think I would like to because it would be nice to see all of my friends again but we will see where life is at.
22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Don't worry so much about what other people think and just have fun, I think I started to get this concept my senior year.

Halloween Fun

So we were able to go to our ward halloween party the saturday before halloween. It was a lot of fun. I dressed up in my old cheer leading uniform (yes it fit but barely) but Richard didn't want to dress up. Or as he likes to say he went as an off duty police officer.
We also had the pleasure a to carve our home grown pumpkins with our friends Lee and Tiffany Kinder and their kids. It was a lot of fun. Hannah and Hunter enjoyed helping me with my pumpkin and the Richard and Lee did theirs. Lee is very talented if you can't tell.

Pumpkins from left to right: mine, Lee's, Richard's. The boys tried roasting the seeds, but they burnt them on accident. So when we were done for the evening, we were trying to figure out how to get the pumpkins home without them getting ruined.

Richard came up with this idea, I guess this is how he gets the milk home as well. All and all it was a fun halloween.

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays

So the 25th of September was Richard's birthday as well as his little sister Alicia's. We celebrated them together and it was a lot of fun. I have been saving for Richard's birthday since feburary so I had enough to get him an xbox 360. It was nice to be able to get him a gift that he was actually suprised to get ( I tried to upload the vidoe but it would never work so maybe I will try again later.)
Blowing out the candles.

We also celebrated mine of the 28th. September is busy in our family.

Updated

So for all of you who have just been dying for an update, I finally was able to upload some pictures so there are 3 new post. I will try to be better at posting.

Jenkins Family

The last week in July Richard's sister Jen and her family came to pocatello to visit. Emma came over to swim and then later us older people played DDR (dance dance revolution) for mario cart. It was lots of fun.

We also celebrated Kevin's birthday at the end of the week. He let Emma and his neice's and nephew's help him blow out the candles.

Family Reunion

We had the Benson family reunion in July. It was good to just see family and have fun.

Grandma got cold the first night and so she used the table cloth until they got her a jacket.

Emma and Cami

Richard's cousin Cynthia's son Hunter. He is so cute.

Caleb and Cami. Caleb is Richard's cousin Even's son.

Emma being her usual silly self.

Grand Canyon

So over memorial weekened I was able to go camping at the grand canyon with some of my family. It was really nice to see them especially my neice brooklynn who I hadn't seen for a year.

I was my first time there and it was so beautiful.

Benjamin found a stick and was always wanting to dig with it.

This was a really cool tower that we went in.

Angela, Mandi, Chris and I even got up at like 4:30 the last morning we were ther to watch the sun rise. We were way tried but I think it was worth it.

Finally In

Well we are finally just about settled into our house. We still need to hang a few more pictures and finish unpacking the office but other than that we are done. I know a lot of you want me to post pictures but it may be awhile. Since we moved we no longer have internet access, so the pictures will probably have to wait until we either get the internet or can use our friends. Hopefully that won't be to long.

Moving Update

So for those of you you haven't heard, we are moving. For those of you that already knew that things changed a little. We ended up closing a week early and are now moved into our house. We have unpack a majority of the things but still have a few boxes. We will be getting our fridge today so then we will move our food from our apartment and as soon as I get it cleaned we will be totally out of it. We are excited to finally have a home. I will post pictures later when it is a little less crazy. Hope all is well with everyone.

All Done!

Well I just took my last two finals. I am very excited because that means I am done. For those of you that don't know, I didn't get into the dental hygiene program. Because of this I have decided not to go back to school, but I will get certified as a dental assistant and then just try to find a job. So it is kind of a good feeling to think that I am done with school for the most part.

April Showers Bring May.........

...... Well if you live in South East Idaho the rest of that phrase would be snow! Yes I said snow. For the last week or so we have had typical spring weather. You know some rain and even some days where it was 70 degress. It was wonderful, so imagine my frustration when I woke up this morning to snow. And I am not talking about just a little snow, the news said that it was only 1.5, but there was more where I was at. Some of you may even be able to understand my frustration when I had to brush 3 inches off of my car and then I didn't even end up going to work. I was so mad. Mother nature sure has a weird sense of humor giving us warm weather, and it was warm yesterday, and then bam snow, and then it warms up to 50 in the same day. I am totally ready for this snow and cold to be gone and the sun to come back. Well that was my rant of the weather today.

Moving

So yes, we are moving again. Yes moveing for a third time before we have even been married two years. But don't worry, it is just to another location in pocatello. Yup, we are buying a house! It will be so nice, and that means I will not have to pack up another time for a very long time. We are very excited and our closing day is supposed to be May 23. Below is the house, I will post some more later.

Trip to Provo

We went to Provo on Sunday to see Richard's sister and her new baby Camilla Jo Belnap. She it so cute, and we had good to see her, Jen, and Emma. We had a very good time. Emma will make some faces when you ask her to. This one is her "stinky" face. She is so adorable.<
Camilla likes to stick her tongue out, it is very cute.
Emma is very happy to be a big sister. (Like how Richard cut my head off.:)

Graduation

Sorry that is has taken me so long to get these pictures up. Richards Graduation went well and we had a good weekened in Boise.
Richard's parents, brother and Grandma were all able to come. He was excited that they were there to support him.
You can't tell very well in this picture, but this was the last run that Richard had to do. It was five miles long and very steep.

This is a memorial that they have right next to the ISP station where post is at. It is to honor those officers fallen.
