Chartres

After Chambord we headed over to Chartres. It is a beautiful cathedral with magnificent stained-glass. So on our way there we passed this nuclear plant. Yes there was a nuclear plant in Loire Valley (maybe it was something else but we were told it was a nuclear plant).



The front of the cathedral has the twelve apostles and also depicts the life of Christ if I remember right.









The pictures do not do it justice but the stained glass was very beautiful. It also depicts bible stories.















The following are from inside the cathedral. The first is the Alter and the second one is supposedly the Veil of the Virgin Mary.

















This was a WWI and WWII memorial outside Chartres.
